”Validation of the application of gel beads-based single-cell genome sequencing platform to soil and seawater” was published in ISME Communications

Validation of the application of gel beads-based single-cell genome sequencing platform to soil and seawater“ was published in ISME Communications, which validated our core technology, bitBiome’s Microbial single-cell genome Analysis Platform called “bit-MAP®”.

In this study, a research group utilized bit-MAP® to analyze model bacterial samples and eight types of environmental samples such as soil and seawater. As a result of comprehensive analysis of the environmental samples, a total of 231 species were identified from the obtained Single Amplified Genomes, of which 228 species were confirmed to be unregistered in the public database.

This research was published in the open access scientific journal ISME Communications on September 30, 2022.

<bitBiome, Inc.>
bitBiome, Inc. will contribute to the realization of bioeconomy with the world’s largest microbial genome database (MMGDB) and an enzyme discovery and engineering platform (bit-QED).
MMGDB utilizes the world’s first “microbial single-cell genomics technology bit-MAP®” that can accurately sequence microbial genetic information that was previously undiscovered. As of September 30, 2022, MMGDB has 700 million genes collected from several samples from environmental samples, extreme environmental samples or human microbiome samples. Using MMGDB, “bit-QED” supports the synthetic biology or biotechnology industry to promptly find and evolve a novel enzyme.
